Beyond was born with the mission to act as a bridge between the West and the MENA [Middle East & North Africa] region.

Our purpose is to connect women whose identities travel beyond systems, cultures, languages, politics, beliefs, professions, and realities they were born into. Women who lead gracefully into a new world of values, beyond polarities.

  • Philharmonie de Paris

    April 12, 2023 | Paris

    As Beyond’s first event in Europe, we had the honour to host a curated circle of women at the Philharmonie de Paris.

    With Daniel Barenboim conducting and Martha Argerich on the piano, it was a truly extraordinary musical experience. Jiyoon Lee played a Stradivari from the year 1703 and joined the meet and greet following the concert.

  • Cartier Women's Initiative

    May 10, 2023 | Paris

    A group of Beyond’s community members were granted exclusive access to the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards ceremony, followed by the Investor Dinner in Paris.

    This year, Cartier shined a light on the incredibly diverse forces for good in tackling complex social and environmental challenges. They celebrated 32 remarkable impact entrepreneurs from all over the world.

  • Women's Reception with Axios

    January 14, 2024 | Davos

    Beyond curated the Women Leaders reception at the Axios House, co-hosted with the Female Quotient, featuring President Fawn Sharp as the keynote speaker. As the indigenous Chair of the WEF and President of the National Congress of American Indians, Sharp's warmth and impressive profile set the tone for this event.

    Driven by a commitment to diverse leadership, WEF 2024 in Davos aimed to elevate powerful voices capable of enacting change.

  • Women's AI Breakfast with Merantix

    January 15, 2024 | Davos

    When Nicole, Founder of Merantix asked Vera Futorjanski to help curate a Women’s AI Breakfast, she eagerly accepted. The goal at WEF 2024 in Davos was to amplify diverse leadership by bringing impactful voices to global stages. The Women’s AI Breakfast, the kickoff event at the highly anticipated AI House, captured significant media attention.

    We featured influential speakers such as Deemah AlYahya, Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization; Nigina Muntean, Chief Innovation Officer at the UN Population Fund; and Anna Makanju, Vice President of Global Affairs at OpenAI, with Nicole Büttner moderating the panel discussion.

FOUNDER

Vera Futorjanski is an entrepreneur, angel investor, LP, and international keynote speaker. After a decade in the tech industry, recognizing the barriers and biases faced by female leaders in all fields, Vera founded Beyond - a curated community for women across cultures, careers, and geographies, providing them with inspiring, nourishing, and transformative experiences in trusted safe spaces, with equally accomplished women who share the desire to leave a mark on the world. One of Vera’s most pivotal missions with Beyond, having lived a decade in the Middle East, is to bridge the Western and Arab worlds to challenge the conventional perspectives, eradicate the fear of otherness and create a sense of connection, community, and belonging.

Vera’s extensive professional background includes working with the Venture Capital firm 500 Global, leading their Middle East operations. She was a core team member at the Dubai Future Foundation, where she contributed to various innovation projects in the Prime Minister's Office of the United Arab Emirates. Vera's journey in entrepreneurship began with co-founding one of Rocket Internet's first startups in the UAE, and, prior to that, working in the European Union. In her first career, Vera was a professional Argentine Tango dancer. 

In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Vera actively participates in influential organizations and initiatives. She is part of the Expert Group on Digital Platforms and Ecosystems for the World Economic Forum, an Innovation Expert at the UN, and a Responsible Leader at the BMW Foundation.
